Internal renovations cover the rooms and internal work that fall outside our dedicated Kitchen and Bathroom Renovation services – living areas, bedrooms, laundries, hallways, internal wall removal, flooring, and general internal reconfiguration. If your project touches multiple internal spaces, or involves structural changes like removing a wall, this is the service that covers it.
What Counts as an Internal Renovation
Internal renovations are about reworking the inside of your home without extending its footprint. That’s the line that separates this from an Extension & Addition – no new floor space is being added, but what’s already there is being reconfigured, upgraded, or opened up.
- Living room and family room renovations – flooring, ceiling, lighting, layout changes
- Bedroom renovations, including built-in wardrobes and internal fitout
- Laundry renovations – plumbing, cabinetry, and finishes
- Internal wall removal to open up floor plans, with structural engineering where load-bearing walls are involved
- Flooring replacement across multiple rooms – timber, tile, or carpet
- Hallway and staircase renovations
- General internal fitout – painting, cornicing, skirting, and finishes carried through the whole interior
How This Differs From House Renovations
House Renovations is our whole-of-house service – every room, every trade, one coordinated project. Internal Renovations is for when you want to rework one or two internal spaces without a full-house renovation. If your scope grows to cover most of the house, we’ll tell you honestly if House Renovations is the better-value approach instead of pricing several internal projects separately.
Structural Work & Approvals
Most internal renovation work – flooring, cabinetry, non-structural fitout – proceeds without formal Council approval, under Owner-Builder or contractor exemptions. Removing a load-bearing wall is different: it requires structural engineering assessment and, depending on scope, may need Council or Complying Development sign-off. We identify this at the site visit, before you’re quoted, not after work has started.
What’s Included in Your Quote
A written scope of works listing every room and every trade involved. A fixed price against that scope. Any structural engineering, if required, priced and included – not added as a surprise variation once demolition has started.
